Vapour Blast
The Vapour Blast is the ideal tool for demonstrating explosion limits and the effects of different concentrations of flammable liquids. When mixed with air in the correct ratio, hazardous vapors from flammable substances can explode rapidly. The Vapour Blast demonstrates how a flammable substance and oxygen (air) can create an explosive atmosphere when mixed in the right proportions.
The desired reaction is achieved by adding a few drops of a volatile, flammable liquid, varying the temperature, and mixing more or less. Ignition produces a brief explosion. Depending on the mixture, the cork is blown off the Vapour Blast with greater or lesser force, creating a strong visual effect. This gives the trainee insight into the dangers associated with the evaporation of flammable liquids.
